How it all began

Our Story…

From Jack’s perspective...

November 2021: I had only been living in Boston for a few months when Kristen and I connected on the dating app, Hinge. When we met for our first date at the Sam Adams Taproom what struck me right away was she had the prettiest eyes I had ever seen. It felt easy to break the ice as we talked about our experiences moving from outside the city and growing up in big families, even played a few rounds of mind meld (ask your local SMC improv team member).

When we found out the bar was closing early that night, we ended up taking a walk through Faneuil Hall procrastinating saying goodbye. I sure hoped I’d hear from her again after that and needless to say was thrilled when we didn’t even wait until the next day to text about setting up a second date.

The next couple of years were filled with North End dinners, movie nights, Cape Cod summers, and endless trash talking over our Boston v. New York team rivalries. It became clear I wanted to spend the rest of our lives together and in March 2024 I made it official and proposed in Beacon Hill. I am so excited to celebrate our story with you all next summer in this city that means so much to us.

From Kristen’s perspective...

Our story began in November 2021 when I impulsively decided to meet up with a stranger from the internet (shout out @ Hinge). I had watched enough Criminal Minds to know to take certain precautions: like being vague about where I live and where I work, as well as intentionally suggesting we meet up at a bar that I knew was closing in an hour so that I had an easy escape. However, once I met Jack and we started talking, I immediately felt at peace with him. His big smile, warm energy, and bad jokes instantly made me feel like I could relax and have fun. When the bar closed, I didn’t feel the need to escape - I just wanted to keep on talking. We ended up staying out walking around Faneuil Hall until 10pm on a school night, which is a pretty big deal for me.

On March 16th, 2024 Jack surprised me with all of my favorite things: a perfect grilled cheese, a crisp diet coke, a day spent with family, and some sparkly jewelry. I am so grateful that I get to spend forever with Jack and I can’t wait to continue our story with all of you this August in the city where it all began.

And the rest is history

Be a part of the the next chapter of our story by celebrating with us in Boston next August!
